About the Owner: Joan Allen
Beginning her career in the food industry, Pike Place Market cemented Joanie’s foundation in shopping local and cooking with seasonal fare. When you cook from scratch, every bit counts. Items on our menu are crafted with care down to each morsel. Joanie is dedicated to supporting our local economy, sourcing ingredients from our neighbors and are fortunate to have high quality local, seasonal, and organic harvests from which to choose. With suppliers focused on sustainability and community, it is easy to uphold our principles and provide exceptional food.
In 1981 Joanie graduated from the Culinary Arts Program at South Seattle Community College. Joanie received a well-rounded education in a wide range of cooking styles.

A true Seattle native, Joanie knows where to find all the edible treasures of our region. And what a bounty the Pacific Northwest holds! It is common to find Joanie hunting down that last flat of local berries for freezer jam as she races to catch a ferry so the crab pots are dropped in time. According to Joanie, there is nothing better than the love of life, food and a good celebration. Your guests are our guest. We take their comfort seriously. When you cook with elaborate knowledge, dietary restrictions are a breeze. We are sensitive about food allergies and creative with alternatives. With gluten already removed from many of our standards, menu planning is easy and our food is enjoyable for all your guests.
From traditional to modern, international to down-home, her uncommonly delicious food is prepared and presented with taste and pride. Making your Grandma’s best recipe to perfection is a challenge quite suited to Joanie and her four decades of experience. The possibilities are endless!
